What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stranger

About February 26, 2013

My name is Megan Elizabeth Katherine Victoria Jane Orlowski-Russell. The Russell I picked up when I got married, but the rest is on my birth certificate. My life began in a very strange way, and not much has changed since. Whenever I try to tell someone a story from my life that seems completely normal to me, they look at me as though I may in fact be a pathological liar. But I assure you that everything in this blog is true. Truth is often stranger than fiction, and my life is beyond exaggeration.

Also, my premier Young Adult Fantasy novel has at long last made it out into the world. Read below to learn more! Or visit my author blog at meganorussell.com.

All sixteen-year-old Jacob Evans wants is to win the heart of Emilia Gray, but with order in the magical world crumbling, war threatening, and Emilia’s boyfriend living across the hall, he may never have the chance.

Jacob Evans loses everything he has ever known and is tossed into a world of magic. The Dragons, a group of rebel wizards, are threatening to expose the existence of magic to humans. Jacob is determined to find a way to fit into Emilia’s family, but as his powers grow, so does the danger. With the death toll mounting, Jacob is accused of acts of rebel terrorism and must fight to stay in a world he’s only just beginning to discover.

When Emilia’s life is threatened, Jacob must risk everything to save her. Does he have the power to rescue her in time? And what could their survival cost?

I once heard “normal is what’s normal for you”. Very profound- except it was a commercial for a laxative. Love you, Mom

So how do you fill out those forms that leave one field for your middle name!? Do you pick one based on your mood? Your name reminds me of how we’re so nailed to our conventions that something a little different can cause a bunch of dominoes to drop. Good for you for nudging those dominoes!
