What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stranger

The Great Tethering Adventure June 2, 2014

The Tethering has a new release date! Yay! The kickstarter will run August 19th through September 17th, and the ebook will be available on Amazon September 18th! The print book will follow the next month, and I am so excited I could pee!

And The Tethering won’t be the only book on this kickstater. Timothy Zahn and Jean Rabe will have their new books as a part of the project as well. Now, I’m not telling you that Timothy Zahn, author of The Thrawn Trilogy, won the Hugo Award for Cascade Point and that Jean Rabe is a bestselling and award-winning author of books such as Dragonlance: Death March just to make you realize what incredible deals you’ll be able to get through kickstarter with offers that will never be seen anywhere else. I’m telling you because I am now terrified of this kickstarter campaign.

Getting my book picked up by Silence in the Library after the Entranced debacle was like getting cast in a national tour after my summer stock contract got canceled. It was amazing! Picture me, the stage door princess with the masses lined up for my autograph. But now I’m in the same program as David Bowie and will be lost to the throngs of the chorus.

For those of you who haven’t spent your life in theatre, the spotlight is looking a little shadowy right now. Sorry, I guess I can’t speak outside of theatre terms.

I am thrilled to be a part of the kickstarter with Timothy Zahn and Jean Rabe. I have so much that I can learn from them. They both have wonderfully successful careers, and I’m just starting off. Having my name and The Tethering mixed in with their books is an amazing opportunity. More people will view the page, and sales will be boosted.

But all of a sudden I find myself playing with the big kids. The kickstarter is going to be huge, and The Tethering will be there. I’m still trying to wrap my head around how big things have suddenly gotten. If you hear someone alternately whooping with joy and hyperventilating, that would be me. I’ll be fine. And I might put light sabers in my kickstarter video. Not that there are light sabers in The Tethering, but Mr. Zahn deserves some respect.
