I am thrilled to announce that The Tethering has found a new publisher. Silence in the Library will be releasing The Tethering in September! And I am so excited to have found a new literary home!
For those of you who don’t know, my YA novel The Tethering was originally contracted to be released by Entranced Publishing this coming May. Last week Entranced closed its doors. There are lots of rumors and stories about why Entranced is no longer with us. If you are familiar with Writers Beware, I am sure you have turned off your soap operas and are just following the sad story of Entranced. But whatever the real story may be, and I’ve given up on trying to figure it out, everything has worked out for the best.
Through my time with Entranced, I learned a huge amount about what it actually takes to get a book from submission to publication. I had the opportunity to work with an amazing editor who made The Tethering shine. I found an artist who made me an amazing cover. And I met some really wonderful and terrifically supportive writers. You never know how many people have your back and are rooting for you until you are out in the cold. All of the Entranced authors, editors, artists, and publicists found themselves very suddenly without a publisher. And I must say the loving support and willingness of everyone to help each other has made me want to learn Kumbaya on my ukulele.
And now I am with Silence in the Library: an amazing company who have taken me and The Tethering under their wing with a level of kindness and professionalism that is truly humbling. I cannot wait to release The Tethering with their logo on the cover. And speaking of covers, the cover for The Tethering will be revealed Thursday, April 10th. So stay tuned because it’s really beautiful, and you won’t want to miss it!
